FAQ
Answers about the shoe, sizing and take-back
Where an answer is a design target or a proposal, it says so.
The shoe and its materials
What is the AeroCrest Everyday Shoe?
A unisex, minimalist shoe for the multi-modal commute: walking, a scooter, transit, then a meeting. It comes in three colourways, Aero Black, Alabaster and Lithium Slate. The materials, sizes and price are the same; the upper colour and the heel logo differ. See the Collection.
What is it made of?
Upper: knit from recycled polymer filament (target: 100% recycled content). Midsole: bio-based sugarcane EVA foam. Outsole: reclaimed natural rubber. Parts are joined with mechanical interlocking seams and heat-activated bio-binders instead of industrial glue. More detail: Materials on Our Story.
Is the shoe sustainable?
We avoid blanket claims and state specifics instead. The design target is under 3.5 kg CO2e per pair, cradle-to-gate, and the target for the upper is 100% recycled content. Both are targets, not measured results. A life-cycle assessment has not been done yet; it would be published with its method and data.
Can I wear it in the rain?
The knit has a water-repellent finish intended for light rain and splashes, and the outsole tread is designed to shed water on wet pavement. The shoe is not described as waterproof.
Can I machine-wash it?
The upper is designed to be machine-washable. That is a design intent: washing instructions would be confirmed after wash testing.
Does it need breaking in?
It is designed not to. The one-piece knit is firmer at the heel and toe box for support and an open weave over the vamp. This is a design intent, not a tested result.
Sizing and fit
Which sizes are available?
Unisex whole sizes, men’s 6 to 13. There are no half sizes. The sizes are listed on each product page.
How do I convert to women’s sizes?
A women’s size is the men’s size plus 1.5. For example, men’s 7 is women’s 8.5.
I am between sizes or unsure. What should I do?
Send your question through the Contact page and mention the sizes you usually wear.
Take-back and end of life
What is the take-back programme?
A proposed programme: a prepaid return label and a discount on the next pair. It does not exist yet, and its launch date is to be set.
How is the shoe designed to come apart?
The parts are joined with interlocking seams and localized heat-activated bio-binders, not industrial glue. The design goal is a shoe that can be taken apart and sorted by material at the end of its life. A disassembly test of each style would check it.
How will you show whether the targets are met?
Each target on Our Story has a stated check, such as a published life-cycle assessment or return rates once a programme exists. See Sustainability goals on Our Story.

What does it cost?
